For the ball bounce the rolling back and forth feels wieghtless. The path of the action feels good. Every path of action needs to be 100% thought out because it will effect the wieght and movement of the ball. The slow in and slow outs will show how much energy is left from that action which effects the wieght aswell. The wieght and energy has to be present in the animation at all times. You see, if the ball bouncing a lot in the corner, it will take a few more smaller bounces before it rolls to a stop.

For the brick drop
Anticipation- During this time you can sell the idea that a strong wind is blowing against the brick. To sell the scene you want to make it believeable. Get the audience hooked into believing its real. Does not mean you rotoscope a brick literally falling with a video camera. Look at references of bricks falling. Or pull from your own experience like when something heavy is falling off the shelf. You know its going to fall because something is making the object lean forward and bam it falls to the ground. During the anticipation people will be hooked into your scene and they will believe what is about to happen. Its not about moving back and forth. But its how its moving that makes it believeable. Have you seen a person run and they lose their balance by leaning forward way too much and trying to catch themself yet they still fall on their face. You wont believe a person will fall if they dont look like they are truely going to fall. Always think about the audience and ask yourself is this hooking them or unhooking them? Train yourself to hook people into your scene with your animation.

Leaf Drop
The leaf is more complex. Make every idea in the scene believeable; from the path of action, slow in, slow outs, tilts, how long does it take before the leaf comes to a complete stop. How big of an arc does the leaf blow in the wind. Everything needs to be thought out down to the T. You can do thumbnails to see if your ideas are working. Ask your professors how to plan out the scene to sell your idea without happy accidents. If you do not undestand what they are saying. Sit down with them longer until you understand. You want to be able to see the animation without inbetweens. You can do this by keeping the leaf animation on stepped. Once you nail down the keys. You want to nail down the breakdowns as well which will show how much slow in and slow outs is needed before the leaf turns to a different direction. Stand and act out the scene in front of a mirror, video, which you can reference from. You have to be extremely focused on how to sell the scene. All of the information is in your keys and breakdowns. You dont get the right path of action...how can you get the right breakdowns. "Everything" effects one another.(These tips goes for everything in animation)
